This Grandma Mastered MS Paint at 80 Years Old #history #art
Concha García Zaera discovered a new passion in her seventies after her children gave her a computer so she could play Solitaire. Instead, she opened Microsoft Paint and began teaching herself digital art using nothing but a mouse.
Born in Valencia, Spain, in 1930, she had once enjoyed painting but gave it up for decades while caring for her ill husband. When she returned to art, she created detailed villages, churches, seascapes, and countryside scenes entirely in MS Paint, often spending up to two weeks on a single piece.
In 2017, her granddaughter created an Instagram account to share her work. A year later, one of her paintings went viral, earning her tens of thousands of followers in just days. Her talent eventually caught Disney’s attention, and she was hired to create artwork promoting Mary Poppins Returns.
