At Meatstock 2026, I asked some of the biggest names in the carnivore community one simple question:
Do you love or hate sardines?
The answers were anything but unanimous.
Some experts eat sardines every week. Others avoid them completely. And those who do eat them shared their favorite sardine brands, what they look for when buying them, and why they include them in their carnivore diet.

Sardines have become one of my favorite tools for metabolic health. They’re packed with protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, calcium, selenium, and other essential nutrients. They’ve also played a huge role in many of my own experiments, including my 21-day sardine fast, where I tracked blood glucose, ketones, body composition, OmegaCheck results, and more.
